The children below decided to enter a poetry competition, arranged by Young Writers. There poems were successful and were chosen to have their work published in a poetry book. Congratulations for all of your hard work and success.
In reception this week we have had lots of fun looking at The Gingerbread Man story! We have talked about what the characters look like, what they do in the story and even made our very own yummy gingerbread men! We have worked on our phonics skills and practiced using our sounds to write the character’s names and writing our own captions for pictures in the story.
In maths we have been looking at 2D and 3D shapes. We have compared 2D and 3D shapes and discussed how 2D shapes are “flat” and 3D shapes are “solid”. We had lots of fun being detectives and using magnifying glasses to find different shapes within our room!
Jaycee and SkyeOn Wednesday 11th January 2017, 20 students from year 6 were chosen to go to the Apple Store (Lakeside). We were chosen because of our behaviour, attendance and always doing our homework. We were congratulated by our year 6 class teachers for our astonishing actions. When we arrived we were greeted by two men named Lee and Amil. They showed us to the mac books and produced our very own movies in partners, of our aspirations for in the future. This project was placed onto a U.S.B wrist band for us and our families to revisit. However, we also received an Apple t-shirt and a certificate with our names on. Each and everyone really enjoyed ourselves (even the teachers). Although, we had a very short time (nighty minutes) we all enjoyed ourselves very much. Furthermore, we developed more skills from this experience. Being very grateful we thanked the helpers so much.
