In 1RJ we have been really busy this week. We have been solving problems using multiplication. To help us we have been using arrays. English has been fun, we have been writing our own stories based on Handa’s Surprise. We had to write about the animals that could steal fruit from someone. We included adjectives and nouns and used the ipads to take photos of plants and trees. |

We did some hard work as we celebrated Music Week at East Tilbury recently. Children from Nursery to Year 6 learnt and practised a range of different musical skills. In Early Years, children worked in groups to play their own music, exploring the sounds of different instruments. In key stage 1, children learnt to use instruments to create music for a specific character in a story. Children then focused on different elements of music to see if they could identify them in different pieces of music. In key stage 2 children learnt to read sheet music and then practised playing it using a range of instruments. Children in Year 6 used iPads to play and then record their songs.
East Tilbury Primary were treated to an Extreme Mountain Bike Stunt Show on Friday 5th June. This was their prize from winning the Big Pedal 2015 in Thurrock. Two professional mountain bike riders performed tricks such as high jumps, vaulting onto tables and cars, wheelies and even danced in time to the music with their bikes. The children had an absolute treat and loved every minute of the show.
Well done to all of the children and parents who rode their bikes and scooters to school during those two weeks. Lets ensure we win this amazing prize again next year when the Big Pedal starts again in 2016! |
