Thurrock SSP competitions are only just starting to get going, with the district cross country competition held this Thursday 24th November and with basketball and dodgeball to look forward to over the next two weeks it’s going to be a busy end to the autumn term. The SGO's are in full swing organising and running our inter house events, cross country took place back in October, dodgeball and football are taking place over the next few weeks. Currently OXFORD are the house in the lead taking the first shield of the year on the inter house board. The next two shields will be up for grabs before Christmas. Year 5 children have submitted applications to become an SGO, they have started their training with the year 6's already supporting with inter house competitions during lunchtimes.
The daily mile has been a great addition to this school year. Active Essex selected us as one of their champion schools for Essex and you will be able to see us feature in their video on our school website. We will be attending an awards ceremony in December to be acknowledged for our efforts. Next term we will be trialing the mile at a different time of the day during curriculum time to see the impact this has on children's learning.
